Today, everything online seems to be revolving around social - companies are upping social recruiting a notch or two, and job seekers are creatively using social media to job search.
I've seen some creative social job searching recently and the job seekers who have gone social have told me that they have received good feedback and interest from their endeavors. Here are a few example from job seekers who have taken their job search social:
Facebook Marketing Communications Professional Page
David Pereira sent me a LinkedIn message telling about his Facebook Marketing Communications Professional page. The "Hire Me" tab including David's portfolio, samples of his articles, his resume, and his contact information. He's taking it a step further though and, as well as pushing it out every he can online and using it as a networking tool, he ran a Facebook ad promoting it.
Geek Needs a Job
Chris Lewis creating the Geek Needs a Job Facebook page (which currently has over 500 likers) along with a social media presence just about everywhere: LinkedIn, Twitter, about.me, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram and Behance.
Jon Ruben's LinkedIn Labor Day Challenge
Have a job lead for Jon Ruben? If so, and it gets him a job by Labor Day, you'll get 50,000 American Express points. If you help the winner, you'll get 25,000 points, or you can donate your points to charity.
