Gmail, Google's email service, has a new feature that will stop an email message from sending - after you've hit Send. For anyone who has ever made a big mistake while job searching (i.e. sending an email about a new job to your boss instead of someone else), it's an opportunity to undo send and stop the message from going.
Most of us have had that uh-oh moment went we've hit send and known that we made a really big mistake. The 5 second rule gives you a short opportunity to save yourself from embarrassment - or worse. The way it works is that you'll see an "Undo link" on every sent mail confirmation. Click and the message will revert back to Compose.
Speaking of Gmail and mistakes you can easily make when job searching, it's a really good idea to use a dedicated email account just for your job search correspondence. That way you'll have all your job search emails in one place, plus you can respond to emails in a timely manner from anywhere.
